One of the benefits of watching and writing about baseball strictly for fun instead of doing so for a living is that I can choose not to dwell on the grisly details of a game like today's. Instead I am free to avoid the game reports, walk away from the computer, read a book, or listen to non-sports talk radio, which is what I chose to do a little earlier tonight. I turned on "All Things Considered" on NPR, just in time to hear the local anchor tell me that " sports, the Cubs blew a three-run lead and lost to the Brewers today at Wrigley Field, 4-3."

Damn that sports-obsessed NPR!
